Weekly Award: Web Site Most Likely To Have Been Built By An Intern
This might sound condemning, but I’m thinking of establishing a weekly award: Web Site Most Likely To Have Been Built By An Intern. It is about large companies targeting a lot of users who, in this day and age, still don’t have any clue about web standards, accessibility or semantics. If, for instance, a web site only works in one web browser (guess which one…) on one platform, something is fundamentally wrong!
Without further ado, let me probably announce this week’s winner: MSN Music.
PS. A little tip: first try it in Internet Explorer on a PC, and then in any other web browser on any platform. DS.

Oh my.. I can hardly believe this website (I mean MSN Music of course) got released to the public like this in the first place…
Independently of being standards compliant, you can still have a site which works cross-browser (though standards do help). This site has obviously not even been tested in anything but IE…

But isn’t this kind of a good thing? I mean, at least it’ll keep some people away from MSN Music, so it can’t be all bad.

Tried with Opera? it is even more fun than with Firefox…
This is a blatant evidence that only IE is standard-compliant (duck and run)
Seriously: is the result with IE really better than with the others? When I see such a page looking like vegetable soup, I just pass away, anticipating the time required to read everything without waranty to find what I am searching for. So what’s the problem if Firefox and Opera stirr the soup a little more?

On a side note, my mother used to work for this company but she got fired when she broke her arm.
