Summer break!

My dear friends, it’s once again summer and it’s time for me to take a break.

Every summer I take a few months off to spend time with my family and get a break from blogging, Internet and web development in general. For me it’s a great way to get to spend both quantity and quality time with my wonderful children, and also to get some balance and perspective on things.

Usually, a lot of my waking time goes into web development, researching, devouring information and basically spend a lot of time with a computer. That’s all good and well, but I need an alternative sometimes, a counter-part to my life in front of a screen.

What I will be doing

(To be honest, I have already had one week off, and I’m loving it! Right now I’m very relaxed and quite a happy man. πŸ™‚ )

First and foremost, I’ll be doing a lot of fun things with my daughters: going swimming, excursions, trips etc. Besides from that, I’ll be watching the football World Cup, which, most of the time, is an enjoyable experience. I will also be working out in my simple home-made gym following the CrossFit approach – I’ve been doing it for almost two months now and it is great!

What I want to say to you

First, I want to wish you a truly great summer! Unless you’re in Australia/New Zealand, and in that case, I hope winter treats you well.

Secondly, if you ever have the chance to take time off, I strongly recommend it. It is hard to describe in words how much it gives me to do something else out of the ordinary, and how much better it makes me feel, and I wish each and everyone of you get/take that chance as well.

I will have time off till September 1st, and I also plan to be offline for most of the time till then. I’ll be reading comments, e-mails, tweets, Facebook messages and such for a few more days, but after that, consider me unavailable till your calendar claims it’s September.

My rough estimate is that I will start blogging again at the end of August.

Till then, enjoy, and thanks for reading!
