Geek Meet January 2008

In the mood for a Geek Meet? January 24th 2008 it’s time again!

Presentations

As usual, we will have two presentations that I hope will be very entertaining:

Introduction to RDF (The semantic web/”Web 3.0″) by Niklas Lindström
Niklas will talk about using RDF to represent information for sharing and reuse. The focus will be on summarizing the foundation, relations to common practises of databases and XML, as well as to modern uses of microformats and JSON. A practical example will be how to use it for the integration and syndication of Swedish legal document descriptions.
The work behind Stockholm.se by Isac Lagerblad and Fredrik Marcus (of Creuna)
Isac and Fredrik will talk about how they worked in the project form an Art Director/Front-end developer perspective, and then they will delve into how they solved things front-end-wise.

Time and place

Yet another time, Creuna are sponsoring the event. You should know the drill by know, but pizza and drinks will be on offer to all happy geeks (and maybe the grumpy ones as well :-). The meeting will be January 24th 18.00 in the Creuna office at Kungsholmsgatan 23 (a map to the location).

Sign up now by entering a comment! Due to planning reasons, please do not sign up unless you’re sure you can attend. If you for some reason have to cancel, let me know by e-mail as soon as possible.

Last time there were about 45 persons attending. Think we can beat that this time? 🙂
Also, if luck stands us by, there might even be a little present for attendees (no promises)!

Welcome!
