Nyman’s on Twitter

Most of you know about Twitter, right? Basically, it’s a service where you write, within a sentence or two, what your doing at the moment, and then share it with the world.

There are many interesting thing with Twitter, like the technology they’re using, the phenomenon with peoples’ interest etc. I wont cover any of that. πŸ™‚

I’ve known about this service for quite some time, but have decided now that it would be interesting to see what I’m doing/how I’m feeling each and every day. Since you’re reading this, it means that you might sometimes be interested in what I’m saying, so my hope is that a couple of you would be interested in following me on Twitter as well.

You can either do that through my Twitter page or my Twitter RSS feed. If you’re interested, enjoy! I’d love to have you following my brief thoughts. πŸ™‚

  • My god, you really are an old man! Welcome to the modern age πŸ˜‰

Hm, i don't know, what i can make of these "services" like Twitter. Sure it seems to be a funny thing, but don't you be afraid of "serving" so much privacy to the whole mankind?

Would you give any answers if an unknown person on the street asks you, what you have done today? I don't think so….

I mean everyone should take care about what kind of personal data to publish. There are so many platforms (like "Facebook", "Linkedin", "Xing", etc) where people turn their whole live inside out. And i think this personal data can be abused so easily…

Sorry for my bad english, but i hope it's understandable….

    Jeroen,

    Ha ha! πŸ™‚

    Ole,

I completely agree with you. With me having my blog and all, I'm already very aware and conscious about what I share and what I don't. Same will go for what I'll write on Twitter.

But I think you have an excellent point that most people don't really realize that what they put out on the web is available for everyone, and once it's out there it's very hard to get rid of. People really need to consider this more.

  • Olly says:

You have another follower Mr. Nyman πŸ™‚

@Ole – you can lock your twitter feed down so only the people you follow can see your posts (if you so wish).

  • Steven Clark says:

Mmm I kind of like Twitter for some reason – yet still ask myself who really cares if I'm off to have a shower now πŸ™‚

Great news for the stalkers though lol…

    @Ole

Such is the new way of things — people have that have always been very lonely inside now reach out by giving all their personal information on the internet to complete strangers. Trust me — they know what they're doing.

  • Georg says:

Guess I'm too old to find Twitter interesting, and following what other people do/feel/whatever on a distance, have never really appealed to me. I'm not even lonely enough to bother picking up the phone unless I really have to, so I have no excuse for engaging in small-talk on the web.

Think I'll stick to talking to, and (more important) listening to, the ones nearest to me – the ones within shouting-distance πŸ™‚

That's funny Robert, as I was reading your response

On the right of my eye I see a random flicker picture of you sitting in the nude πŸ˜€ haha – You gotta love the web!! Perfect timing I must say.. and great pic, but you knew that already πŸ™‚

  • Robert Nyman says:

    Olly,

    Nice!

    Steven,

Yeah, I wonder who might be interested too. πŸ™‚

    mdmadph,

Yes, that probably corvers some of the people sharing as well.

    Georg,

Thats completey cool, and sounds like a sound approach.

    Pat,

    Ha ha! πŸ™‚

Well, what can I say. The web works in mysterious ways.

    Jens,

    Thanks!
