Work your way to a Trig invite
There’s something new and exciting on the web called Trig. I’m not really allowed to tell you anything more about it (although I want to! :-)), but the fact that I have some invites to share.
If communities are your thing, this is an opportunity that you definitely shouldn’t miss!
As new web sites and services are launched, people keep collecting invites and then don’t use them; it just becomes a kind of Internet status thing. Therefore, to get an invite, you need to work a little, show that you sincerely want it and is going to use it. Here’s what you gotta do:
Send an e-mail to trig [at] robertnyman [dot] com with the answers to the following questions:
- Where did the Smurf character Smurfette come from?
- What was the name of the vocalist on Iron Maiden’s first self-entitled album?
- What’s the URL of one of my Flickr pics where I’m naked? Don’t worry, it’s not full frontal nudity. π (hint: it was taken in 2002).
And, finally, to make sure that you have sent me an e-mail as well as to share your personal preference, I want you to write a comment with what movie you thought was the best one in 2006.
The reward
The first 30 e-mails, together with a comment, will be rewarded with an invite to Trig. Don’t miss out now!
I have to say I loved Pans Labyrinth. It was amazing.
I loved The Science of Sleep (esp. the stop-motion animation goodness).
Best movie of 2006: Me and You and Everyone We Know . Subtle.
I liked Children of Men. I'm not into movies, though, so I don't see many.
Although I am not entering; I think you should have put a health warning on those 2002 strangely disturbing pictures. π
Movie I liked in 2006.
Hmm, I think it was Miami Vice. I don't think there were a lot of good movies in 2006, but this one is cool. The actors played well, lots of action, and an interesting director camera.
i didnt enjoy much in 2006.. i have yet to see pans labrynth though.. but im gonna go with what made me laugh.. jackass 2.. those guys are idiots.
The new bond, by far.
Favorite movie – Happy Feet
Very simple: V for Vendetta.
Best movie of 2006: Caché (Michael Haneke), probes deep into your conscience, consciousness.
I liked United 93..
Yay, I'm not #31, haha. I've only seen two movies last year though (and those two even at the same day), which were Children of Men and Casino Royale, of which I liked the latter much more.
Reine: Vendetta was 2005, so you’d better come up with another movie. π
that was "An Inconvenient truth" for me.
Pan's Labyrinth was amazingly well-done and appealed to the mystical while at the same time carrying a healthy dollop of realism.
Thanks for playing! Invitation has been sent.
I have to say that I look forward to seeing Pan’s Labyrinth, haven't seen that one yet. Children of Men was really good (I really liked the general ambiance).
Movie: Children of Men
Hopefully you got the email π
I really liked Cars.
Sure it's not the best but my son thinks so and play the DVD over and over, day after day π
An Inconvenient Truth gets the top spot, in my
opinion, for flick pick of '06. The movie was not
a cinematic breakthrough, or a wild ride; it didn't
take full advantage of the surround sound, but the
message was loud.
Aaron, Walter, Mike,
Invitations has been sent!
Walter,
I really enjoyed cars as well. π
I would have to say V for Vendetta (released in spring 2006 by the way) too. Didn't see a whole lot of films from 2006… busy year :-).
I can't say that I saw alot of movies last year, but I liked The Da Vinci Code.
Stefan, Hans,
Invitations should be in your inboxes.
i haven't seen the science of sleep and i really want to, sad thing is that in spain we get commercial mainstream DUBBED movies and gondry is dead before mel gibson. this is a sad fact my friends
